Not a Holiday, but an Experience.

The Valle dei Mòcheni

Nestled in the mountains of Trentino, in the Dolomites of Lagorai, lies an Enchanted Valley—a genuine territory rich in history.

A Brief History

The history of the Valle dei Mòcheni (Bersntol in local language) dates back to the Middle Ages, when local lords sent their servants to work the land. It was only around 1400 that populations of German origin settled, including the Moar family, who, discovering the resources of the territory, colonized it and began to exploit the rich deposits of iron, copper, and silver. Soon, Bohemian workers also arrived, who explored the valley and became known as Canopi – Knopn, meaning “Miners.”

These communities lived in the Valley for a long time and, once the mineral resources were exhausted, they became farmers and traders. Firmly preserving their traditions and strong connection to the land, despite frequently moving, they created a unique cultural enclave in the world with their own language.

In 2015, the Miners’ Hut was the film set for “My Father Jack,” directed by Tonino Zangardi, starring Elisabetta Gregoraci, Eleonora Giorgi, and Francesco Pannofino.

In 2021, the Miners’ Hut was featured in the DMAX-TV series “Falegnami ad alta quota” (High Altitude Carpenters).
