Palù del Fersina, upper Val dei Mocheni, Lagorai chain, Trentino. Imagine being immersed in a coniferous forest that has nothing to envy of Canadian British Columbia. Imagine being in a mountain environment, above 1,500 metres, where human traces are still barely visible today and anthropisation has not reached the levels that social media has increasingly highlighted recently. Imagine having some of the most beautiful peaks at your disposal, just a few hours’ walk away, from Croce to Gronlait to Fravort to Cima d’Ezze and Sasso Rotto. Imagine again having well-marked paths, Lake Erdemolo not far away and a space where the wilderness is located exactly in the garden. Well, perhaps you are close to the concept of slow tourism, for mountain and uncontaminated nature enthusiasts, which the Miners’ Hut can represent.- WHEREAbout 2km beyond Palù del Fersina, along the forest road that leads to the Palù mine. Access is also convenient for vehicles, the internal parking is large. The mine is a few minutes away, about a quarter of an hour’s walk, while Lake Erdemolo is less than an hour’s walk away.- WHATThe hut, as written, is immersed in the woods, with the Rio Laner waterfall next to it. The living area on the ground floor is equipped with a wood-burning stube, methane gas cooker, but also a wood-burning cooker. The large table in the corner allows you to organize convivial dinners overlooking the forest where in the morning it is possible to spot wild animals such as foxes and roe deer. Outside, there is a space for the barbecue and a table with benches covered by a canopy. In addition to the benches overlooking the entire valley, there is space for a swing.In the sleeping area, in addition to the master bedroom, two bedrooms for guests and children/teenagers. All this with a large and practical steep terrain in front of it which offers scents in every season. Two bathrooms, one in the sleeping area with fine finishes and shower with unlimited hot water, one in the living area for needs without having to climb the stairs.- WHYThe Miners’ Hut is a sort of refuge against contemporary consumerism that recalls the atmospheres and traditions of the area, keeping alive the memory of the ancient mines of Palù del Fersina. This cabin is particularly appreciated for its impeccable cleanliness and for the warm and genuine welcome that characterizes it.- A STRATEGIC POINT FOR MOUNTAIN ENTHUSIASTSOne of the great advantages of the Baita dei Minatori is its proximity to the Rifugio Sette Selle, a point of reference for hikers in the area. Located a few kilometers from the hut, the Rifugio Sette Selle is easily reachable through a pleasant walk surrounded by nature.- THE REDISCOVERY OF NATUREThe Miners’ Hut and its surroundings offer an authentic and regenerating mountain experience. Here you can truly rediscover the pleasure of walking through the woods, breathing the fresh mountain air and listening to the silence of nature, interrupted only by the sounds of the local fauna. This area of Lagorai is inhabited by deer, chamois and numerous species of birds, such as the capercaillie, which can be observed along the paths, especially in the spring and summer months. Autumn allows you to best experience the foliage and silence. Of course, there is the possibility of having a stable and constant Wi-Fi connection, but if one likes to unplug, then he can do so without problems. The town, with the supermarket, is only two kilometers away. In short, time for a walk among the farms of the upper Val dei Mocheni. In winter, the landscape changes completely and offers an ideal environment for ski mountaineering, thanks to its large expanses of fresh snow and routes of varying difficulty.- CLOSINGIf you are looking for a place that combines the authenticity of the mountains, the comfort of a welcoming refuge and proximity to trekking and ski mountaineering routes of rare beauty, this is the ideal choice.

Fantastic place! Enjoyed a wonderful week in this beautiful cabin with spectacular views. Warm welcome by the owner, someone with a passion for the region. We received a lot of information and tips about the area. From the hut we took several (steep) walks. Made a lot of use of the BBQ/outdoor fireplace.
With my family, in mid-June, we spent a week at the miners’ hut. We were looking for tranquility and a place to be in contact with nature. The cabin has been recently renovated and is very comfortable and equipped with Wi-Fi. There is everything you need to cook, including crockery, glasses and plates to eat your meal. The place where it is located is splendid: it is a stone’s throw from a small waterfall and close to a path from where you can reach various nature trails and mineralogical sites on foot. Outside there is a large green space with a barbecue area, a very spacious table, several benches, a swing and a private source of water that flows perpetually. Within a 2 km radius there are:- a farmhouse run by two very nice and friendly spouses “il SostaCavalli”, where we ate the typical dishes of the area (there is also thepossibility of ordering takeaway);- a kiosk located inside a paid car park that sellsHomemade sandwiches and desserts, ideal as a snack on long journeyswalks. The business is run by a lady who gave us severalsuggestions on possible excursions to do in the area and whatwe thank;- a small Coop, open only in the morning, with all the necessary productsto be able to cook in the cabin.Ultimately it was a very engaging experience and certainly one to be repeated.
We just spent a week in the cabin and can’t wait to go back! It is a magnificent place, quiet, surrounded by nature, close to the paths, equipped with all comforts. The cabin is beautiful both outside and inside, very welcoming, tastefully furnished and equipped with everything you need (dishes, pots, towels, hairdryer, wardrobes and chests of drawers, blankets, pillows, etc.)For those looking for a relaxing holiday it is ideal.
